Quick Meal Planning Ideas for Busy Moms
Does this sound familiar?
It is late afternoon and you have had a busy day. You have no idea what you are going to have for dinner tonight. You feel like you have no other options beside settling for chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese. Or you could pick up some fast food – again!
Knowing what to make for your family for dinner can be stressful!
It doesn't have to be like that. With a little planning ahead you can make a quick meal at home even when you have very little time. This can save your family a lot of money and it is a healthier option than resorting to fast-food.
Quick Cooking Tip:
Cook up extra meat like lean ground beef or chicken. My family enjoys hunting so we often use various wild game like venison or pheasant.
Let it cool, place it in freezer containers, and label it. You will now have a base for many quick meal ideas. You can easily grab a container of pre-cooked meat out of the freezer at the last minute and make a meal very quickly.
We had a very busy day yesterday and I had a meeting at night so I used one of my quick meal ideas. I make my own taco seasoning mix and always have some on hand. I also make sure I keep some staple items in the house at all times – like lettuce, raw veggies, cheese, taco shells, and dressing. I was able to simply take a container of cooked ground beef out of the freezer and heat it with a little water in a fry pan. Add some of the taco seasoning mix and we had dinner ready in less than 30 minutes.
